Client Feature - Deeply Rooted Healing Traditions

When I started working with Luka Barba-Johnson on the branding for Deeply Rooted Healing Traditions, she knew that she wanted a look that was grounded in Art Nouveau, a style which I love and was very excited to incorporate into a logo. She was also very interested in the logo incorporating hand-illustrated elements and details, which gave me a lot of creative leeway. I started by illustrating the image of the mother and infant, as well as the roots and trees, then scanned and digitized, before making a few changes and finalizing.
The end result is a logo that feels polished but authentic, with details that make it personal to the client (such as the incorporation of the sacred Malunggay/Moringa tree and the client’s Pacific Islander heritage).
